I am Barbara Matson, Boston native, Wyoming fan, and an experienced writer, reporter, and editor. I have worked on the staffs of the Boston Globe, Newsday, the Hartford Courant, the Asbury Park Press, and the Trenton Times. I graduated from Harvard, where I majored in biology and played two varsity sports, field hockey and lacrosse. I was a science writer first, then called on my athletic background when I moved to sportswriting. I am now a freelancer; I have written for a variety of publications, including the Boston Globe, Harvard Magazine, the Washington Post, Reuters, Golf Magazine, Boston Globe Magazine, Woman’s Day, Harvard Education Newsletter, Cricket.
